Ithihas clinic was established by Sri. A. K Velayudhan Vaidyan who was popularly known as Kochuveluvaidyan in the year 1935 as a Vaidyashala at Tekke Angadi, Cherthala, Alappuzha District Kerala. But actual history of Ithihas Ayurveda starts long before that. Sri. Velayudhan Vaidyan was born and bought up in a well-known Vaidya family. He had immense knowledge passed from his forefathers. His father was Sri. Kunjan Vaidyan who was well versed in Netra Chikitsa (Eye treatment). Sri. Kuttan Vaidyan who was his uncle was also specialised in Netra Chikitsa during that time.
Velayudhan Vaidyan was famous for Bala Chikitsa (Paediatric Treatment) Patients visited him even from long distance during nineteen thirties. After the demise of Velayudhan Vaidyan his legacy was continued by his son Dr. V. Chandrashekharan.
Dr. V. Chandrashekharan popularly known as Ithihas conferred his D.A.M from Govt. Ayurveda College Tripunithura. He started his practice at Ithihas Clinic in the year 1976. He was very famous for Nadi Chikitsa. Most of the patients visited him for the treatment of Prameha (Diabetes) and Hridroga (Heart related diseases). He had formulated many special combinations of medicines from his experience and research.
New Clinic was established by him near court junction, Cherthala in the year 2001.
After his demise Dr. Anupa Venu Ithihas who took her B.A.M.S from Ayurveda College Coimbatore started her practice at Ithihas Clinic in the year 2015.
